Manuel Santelices is a Chilean journalist and illustrator living and working between New York City, Rhinebeck NY and Santiago, Chile. The worlds of fashion, society and pop culture are explored through his illustrations. After nearly 30 years writing stories about style, design, art, society and politics for a number of magazines, including COSAS magazine, the Spanish editions of Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Esquire, and being a fashion writer in New York for Vogue Mexico and Latin American for 7 years, Manuel decided to focus his attention on illustration in 2016, painting mostly with watercolors the same characters and events he covered as a journalist.
In 2017 he published a first book of illustrations, “Drawing the Line” (LAK Editores, Chile) for the Latin American market, and has had solo exhibits in Chile and the U.S. His work has been published in Town & Country, Modern Luxury publications, House Beautiful, Telva (Spain), CASAS Magazine, Mas Deco, Estilo y Decoracion and other Interior Design and Architecture publications.
