“A few months ago, while I was planning the opening of my boutique in Capri, I came across vintage photographs of Jackie Kennedy and Marella Agnelli wandering around the island, as well as one of Jackie and her sister, Princess Lee Radziwill, getting off a boat. Immediately, other women like them came to mind; figures like C.Z. Guest and Gloria Guinness who possess a natural kind of elegance that I try to capture in my designs,” states Silvia Tcherassi. “From this moment, I decided that the aesthetic codes that would influence my Spring 2024 collection would stem from Truman Capote’s aptly named swans.”
These style dictations and particularly, these women, evoke the same notion of quiet luxury that permeates the zeitgeist but are also blended with elements of the unexpected and playful. That being said, the pieces in this collection have been designed with a modern-day woman in mind: someone who values comfort, but also uses fashion as a means of expression and individuality. “Power lunches in New York, galas in Lake Como and serene sunsets in Palm Beach, these became the locations for Spring 2024,” added the designer.
With a strong focus on soft tailoring—the very epitome of casual luxury— the garments have been crafted with delicate silks, laces, chiffons and brocades. The palette oscillates from the neutral tones that so characterized Jackie’s style to the vibrant hues brought about the Latin heritage of Gloria Guinness. The detailed patterns are an homage to Marella’s gardens, Lee’s passion for the arts and of course, the turquoise waters that served as the background to the memorable images of C.Z. Guest by Slim Aarons. Subtle, but intentional details like accents specially made in our atelier, as well as oversize belts make this proposal wearable and apt for a woman of today. In a few words, this collection captures the spirit of these icons and can be summarized in a few words: sophisticated, elegant, and timeless.
