Throughout the development of this project, we were adamant about not only preserving the time-honored character of the space but honoring it. “Safeguarding, and celebrating the legacy of Cartagena has always been at the forefront for us–not just in this new redesign, but since we first opened our doors here more than twenty years ago,” shares the designer. Among the place’s defining details are its signature vaulted ceilings and a harmonious interplay of bronze, acrylic, marble, and exposed brick, creating a dialogue between the city’s architectural heritage and contemporary design.
The renewed interior incorporates Mid-Century Modern and Art Deco furnishings from our personal collection. The ceiling’s distinctive cerulean shade, achieved through a traditional fresco technique, adds a special dimension to the interiors. In the course of the renovation, a long-concealed wall was revealed, exposing a historic façade now carefully restored as part of the narrative.
